“Thank you for digging deeper into the model to expose what common sense is telling you doesn't look right. Very sad that this made it in, but I have already known that much of what is published in peer-reviewed journals ranges from meaningless to nothing new to pure garbage. It takes critical thinking, expertise, and sometimes extra investigation to find the true gold nuggets. So much pressure to publish x number of times is what fuels this problem with infojunk. When work gets published, it means words, numbers, and figures are printed on a page. After that, you're on your own because some people have hypotheses that they want prove no matter what number they decide to tweak.”
